Production - Preliminary Task
Production, I would like to say, went mostly smoothly, the only problem was organising our actors and managing our time. Ideally we would have liked to film the whole thing, in all the different set-ups, in one go but since our filming coincided with the other production team, we ended up sharing actors and inevitably running out of time when it came to actually filming. We also had the problem of the cleaner with his hoover, which caused a lot of unnecessary background noise - I doubt they have cleaners in the background of restaurants! Filming on two different days meant that we had to set up the room in the exact way in order to make the whole film look right, not like we were in two different places. This was difficult when we had so many props, and the tables arranged in a certain way. We also had to make sure that people could make both days, and we ended up losing our camera woman on the second day.
However, in the end the actual filming (once we got to it) was mostly smooth. Despite the kerfuffle with finding the actors, filming was efficient and we filmed most set-ups in one attempt. We had a few incidents where we filmed the whole scene with the actors head cut-off but, on the second day of filming we managed to get every set up completed quickly. I think the experience of the first day aided our knowledge, and we learnt from our mistakes.
